Remember when receiving mail was fun? Then create that memory again for someone you love by signing them up for the ultimate ‘of the month’ club—The Astronaut Autograph Club. Imagine their delight when they rush to the mailbox each month to claim their autographed photo and personalized letter from some of America’s most famous astronauts!

The Astronaut Scholarship Foundation, a nonprofit organization, offers just 350 memberships to its Astronaut Autograph Club each year as a way of raising money for its scholarship program.

Since 2002, members have been receiving photos from such legendary astronauts as Mercury and Shuttle Astronaut John Glenn; first woman commander Eileen Collins, Space Walkers Tom Jones and Kathryn Thornton. All of the astronauts share their heroic story in a personalized letter that accompanies the hand-signed photo each month and proof that ordinary people can do extraordinary things.

Give the Astronaut Autograph Club to a child and watch their face light up when they read about these astronauts’ ground-breaking flights, and realize that they too one day could travel to outer space.

In 2010, for the first time ever, other famous space icons have joined the stellar line-up of U.S. Astronaut Hall of Fame Astronauts. The 2010 astronauts included:

  • Astronaut Jerry Carr, Skylab 4
  • Astronaut Eileen Collins, STS-63, STS-84, STS-93, STS-114
  • Private Cosmonaut, Richard Garriott, Soyuz-TMA 13
  • Astronaut Ed Gibson, Skylab 4

  1. This is such a novelty thing! Don’t know of anyone in my family or circle of friends who would like it, though.
